UST-CFAD and Wunderman Thompson bag top spots
Manila, Philippines--- The Internet and Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines (IMMAP) announced the results of the dPop Youth and the Digital Young Creative (DYC) competition at the Boomerang Awards today. This year’s IMMAP dPOP Youth and Digital Young Creative Competition is presented by Unilab, the leading pharmaceutical company in the Philippines dedicated to bringing world-class medicines to Filipinos.
The dPOP Youth Competition awarded teams for their creativity, strategic direction and excellence in media orchestration for holistic campaigns they developed for three Unilab brands. Each team was tasked to develop holistic, impactful, and meaningful campaigns for Bioflu, Enervon and Neozep.
Best in Strategy was awarded to University of Santo Tomas - College of Fine Arts & Design composed of Sid G. Gonzales, Mary Elaine B. Inocando, Carlos Astha Dominic C. Ocampo,
Christine Angelie P. Orines and Faye Aurea T. Umali. This team also bagged the Best Enervon Campaign.
Best in Creative was awarded to De La Salle University Manila composed of Kelsey Martina C. Chan, Kimberly De Alday, Mariejo Janella T. Ellema, Rav Ryan A. Ocampo, Alethea Jane O. Tolentino.
Best in Media was awarded to Polytechnic University of the Philippines composed of Jason M. Lawan, Kristine May M. Dela Cruz, Arvin L. Pulido, Roland Mark C. Espiritu and Ma. Stacey Pamela C. Castro.
Best in Bioflu Campaign was awarded to the team of Maya Araneta, Hannah Arago,
Allana Paz, Michelle Logronio and Alyana de los Santos from the University of Asia & the Pacific. The Best Neozep Campaign was awarded to the team of Julienne B. Mancenon, Eleanor Reyes, Mia Antonia Ramos, Mary Klarisse M. Luklukan, and Francine Isabelle B. Barrozo, another team from University of Santo Tomas - College of Fine Arts & Design.
Meanwhile, Wunderman Thompson, represented by Paul Castro and Jillian Librodo, topped the DYC competition for a digital campaign they created for the Unilab brand Medicol. The duo will represent the Philippines at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity Young Lions Competition in June 2022. Second place went to McCann WorldGroup Philippines followed by the team from BBDO Guerrero Proximity Philippines in third place.
“We’ve had a lot of impressive submissions from the students. The future of digital marketing is bright and we cannot wait to welcome them to the real world,” says Gara Santos-Ontiveros, chair of IMMAP’s Education Committee.
“The DYC has become a much sought-after competition given that we’ve had a record-breaking 45 entries this year. And the judges loved the entries! In fact, the scores were so close in the final tally,” added Rudy Villar, co-chair of the DYC Committee.
The Philippines has so far won a bronze in the 2018 edition of the competition courtesy of Lance Francisco and Zach Lim who were then representing Wunderman Thompson.
